A lone bicycle, patiently awaiting its owner as the sun sets on the hard concrete of the city streets. Its shadow looms large, contrasting with the almost-frail delicacy of the baskets. A marvelous invention indeed. Just another bike in the city.

This lone bicycle waits patiently for its owner to return, then out for a night of deliveries, perhaps, from the abundantly-stocked food market just next door. Nighttime is the right time in New York City for deliveries; it's the city that never sleeps, after all.
Who doesn't like a good cup of coffee? How many of us can drink and walk at the same time? I came across this colorful street scene as I strolled home from work one day ... the yellow of this New York City taxi echoes the yellow of the cafe, and the backpack of the determined walker. Enjoy!

This is one of the streets of New York: in this case, a young woman walking from sun into shadow, a lone passerby in a stark urban landscape. Just another day in New York City. 'Girl Walking into Shadow,' was selected in June 2013 by the New York Center for Photographic Art as an Honorable Mention in the Urban Landscapes Call for Entry, out of close to 1,000 images submitted.
I return again and again to elemental places that capture my attention and my imagination ... this is one of them. Some places have a pull.
This gallery is the "Twilight Zone" of my art, inspired by the stark surrealism that surrounds many of us in the big city.
