Central Park by Miriam Danar

Boating On The Lake - Central Park

Rowing a boat in New York's Central Park on a beautiful early spring day is a tradition that continues into the summer, and beyond. It has gone on for over 100 years.

Central Park - Art In The Park For Sale

Umbrellas aren't just for rain, anymore. This little booth in Central Park is so packed with vintage art for sale that you can't see the shopkeeper. He's probably under the umbrella! Soon this colorful umbrella will be competing with the flowers for attention in the Park. Can't wait!

Central Park - Colorful Prints For Sale

This old wooden stand is part of an old-fashioned sidewalk booth where colorful prints of New York City are sold throughout Central Park. This grouping of squares and rectangles in the bright sun was attractive enough for me to consider it art unto itself!

Central Park New York - Romantic Carriage Ride 2

This old fashioned horse drawn carriage ride may be fading as a tourist attraction, but it is still quite a romantic sight and a reminder of days gone by. Part of my series on Central Park, its sights, and its people.

I have often thought that it would be nice to see today's beautiful locations and sights through the lens of an old-fashioned camera ... not having one at hand, and without the ability (yet!) to time-travel, I did the next best thing. Here are the sights and sounds of Central Park, imagined as if we were there 100 years ago, through the use of creative editing. I've also included pictures with a more modern look.
