Miriam Danar is an experienced street photographer who often enhances her work digitally, producing striking images, using a technique that I have not previously encountered. It is especially effective when added to images taken during or after a downpour.
The distorted light of New York street signs and neon lights shows a view of the city as seen through rain-covered glasses, the windows of taxis or otherworldly camera lenses.
The basic technique is relatively simple to master, as my first attempt at a 'Danargam' demonstrates, but a closer look at Miriam's work shows just how intricate the method can be, with each image taking hours of work to produce.
